About Me

Studio Kosnik is a design woodworking practice. We combine good, creative and ethical design; the finest of old-school craftsmanship; put that together with creative budgeting [read on!] to achieve results that leave our clients pleasantly surprised with the final results.

Here is a link to a CBC story about me for DESIGN WEEK!

Karol Kosnik – the creative force behind the firm – is a graduate of Sheridan College's Craft and Design program. While at school he was recognized as a leader in his program with the 'Friends of the Furniture Studio' award and the prestigious Nienkamper Scholarship. His apprenticeship experience includes upholstering the base for the first ever Kloud Chair by Karim Rashid, and learning his finishing/lacquering chops from an old Iraqi woodworker who built a stool for Saddam Hussein.

During his 20 year woodworking career he has designed and built large and small wooden structures; he trimmed-out multi-million residences; he has installed wooden floors for Hollywood stars and minor Toronto celebrities; He has done EVERYTHING! He even - once - worked in a presence of privately owned Picasso.

** Occasionally we work pro bono. If you think your business could use a 'leg-up' because you are a Scouts Canada leader or work with disadvantaged youth then give me a call at 647 887 3156 and we will see how best we can help. **

**edit** Uh oh! - Facebook is being an *ss and won't let me link to my Insta account from here - you will have to use your Instagram app to look up the different pictures of my work.

Sometimes people want to get a peak behind the scenes stuff. YEA! I got an account for that!

While @studio.kosnik is a 'pretty peach' pictures of finished products with insights, there is lots the background. I am relentless in improving my clients projects - not just making them pretty, but functional and long lasting. And even...gasp... things occasionally go awry! It is a sign of a good contractor how they deal with the issues that arise! Check it out! Give a follow! Toronto-centric!
